Dasham Falls:

Located near the Taimara village in the Ranchi district, Dasham Falls, also known as Dassam Falls, is a spectacular waterfall in the state of Jharkhand which is a tributary of the Subarnarekha River. Cascading down a height of 144 ft., the waterfall boast of utter serenity, peace and calm. The area surrounding the spot is engulfed in rich greenery, that makes it an ideal picnic place in the region. To reach the spot, you will have to climb a flight of stairs. You can also stop in between and stare at the gorgeous scenery surrounding it.
The waterfall is basically a Nick Point, also known as Knick Point, which means that it has been developed over the years due to the break in the rocky slopes in a longitudinal manner. For the same reason, it is not ideal to swim or to step into the water as the current is strong and the ground is uneven. Other than that, the region echoes with the gurgling sound of water which is like music to the ears, and is perfect to relax and rejuvenate.

Jonha Falls:

A 45-kilometer drive from Ranchi lies the Jonha Falls, named after the nearby village of Jonha. This area is also known as Gautamdhara, since a temple dedicated to Lord Budha is nearby. Here, the rocks seem to be calling you down their natural gradient to join the gurgling water of the River. A somber atmosphere surrounds the waterfall, enhancing its picturesque appeal.

Patratu Valley :

Forty kilometres outside Ranchi lies the scintillating Patratu Valley. With sparkling waters of the Patratu Dam on one side and lush green trees flanked along the other, driving along the Ghat of the Patratu Valley is truly a stupendous experience.

Jagannath Temple:

Perched up on a hilltop, the Jagannath Temple is the most popular historical landmark in Ranchi dating back to 1691. As s smaller replica of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, the temple is decked with intricate carvings and a unique blend of coloured stones. The Rath Yatra is a festival of joyous celebration that sees a footfall of thousands of tourists each year.

Birsa Zoological Park:

The Birsa Zoological Park, also known as Birsa Jaivik Udyan houses a wide variety of wild animals like lions, tigers, various kinds of deer etc. It is located on the Ranchi-Patna National Highway near Ormanjhi and is a must-visit for all wildlife enthusiasts.
As part of the animal adoption program, you can also adopt an animal and contribute to the wildlife preservation drive of this park.

Rock Garden:

Complete with waterfalls, sculptures, art and unparalleled scenic beauty, the Rock Garden in Ranchi is the perfect weekend excursion destination. The major attraction here is an iron footbridge that stands on only two poles. Since the garden is situated on a hillock by the Kanke Dam and is surrounded by lush environs, you can relax peacefully while enjoying a stunning view of the city.

Tagore Hill:

Situated in Morabadi in Ranchi, Tagore Hill is a popular hilltop in the state of Jharkhand. Also known as Morabadi Hill, the hilltop has a long associated history with the revered poet and Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Engulfed in lush greenery and boasting of gorgeous panoramic vistas, the vantage point stands at a height of 300 feet and is an ideal picnic spot and a popular tourist attraction near the city. It is believed that Tagore used to come up here to enjoy the utter ataraxy and solitude at the top, and to write books. A number of his famous books have been conceived and written up here.
You can reach the top by climbing a flight of 200 - 250 stairs and enjoy stunning views of the town below. Besides, you can also try your hand at trekking, rock climbing and several other adventure sports and thrilling activities here. At the foot of the hill is also situated the famous Ramakrishna Ashram and a centre of Divyayan and Agararian Vocational Institute. In addition to that, you can also enjoy mesmerising sunsets from uphill.

Panch Gagh Falls:

Panch (means five) Gagh Falls is a stunning tourist destination which has five waterfalls cascading through tall and steep hills near the scenic village of Khunti. The foot of the waterfalls has a very calm and serene atmosphere and is an ideal location for picnics and weekend getaways

Ranchi Lake:

Located at the base of the majestic Ranchi hill, this lake was constructed in the year 1842 by a British National Colonel Onsely. It is centrally located and has boating facilities.
Being well-maintained by the authorities, this is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed evening and is ideal for picnics. The Ranchi hill itself is a popular tourist destination, it also has a Shiv Mandir at its top and one can get a panoramic view of the entire city from there.

Topchanchi Lake:

Located on the NH2, Golden Quadrilateral, Topchanchi Lake is an artificial lake covering an expanse of over 214 acres. The lake is at a distance of 37 kilometres from the Dhanbad Railway Station and is a famous spot for tourists to indulge in nature walks, exploration as well as hold picnics. The Topchanchi Lake expanse consists of the marvellous artificial lake amidst the rolling green hills and forests as well as the famous Prasanath Hills nearby. Part of the 214 acres or more precisely 8.7 square kilometres, is also dedicated to a wildlife sanctuary. Due to this reason, you will find small, harmless animals roaming around the Lake as well. Nature lovers enjoy this part of town and are often found flocking the area in search of rare flora and fauna.

Angrabadi Temple Complex:

SAngrabadi Temple Complex is situated in Khunti, a small and serene village near Ranchi. The temple houses the idols of Lord Ganesh, Lord Shiva, Ram-Sita and Hanuman. This is a must-visit for tourists and devotees alike.

Pahari Mandir:

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Pahari Mandir in Rachi soars at an altitude of 2140 feet and offers a mind-stirring bird's eye view of the entire city. You have to climb about 300 steps to reach here, but the beauty of the temple and the stunning view is absolutely worth it. The Shravan season is a pompous affair here and sees a footfall of hundreds of devotees each year.

Lodh Falls:

Situated in Latehar, around 195 kms away from Ranchi, Lodh Falls is the highest waterfalls in Jharkhand and the 21st highest in the country. The 143 metres waterfalls drops in several tiers over the River Burha and is nestled in the dense woods of the Chota Nagpur Plateau

Murga Mahadev Falls:

Murga Mahadev Waterfalls are situated 143 kms from Ranchi, within the premises of a Lord Shiva temple. The temple is a revered place of Hindu worship and stays especially crow row1ded with pilgrims in the winter season in addition to regular tourists visiting the place.

Sun temple:

The Sun Temple has an extremely captivating architecture and has the shape of a giant vehicle with 18 wheels driven by seven horses. The temple complex also has a holy pond which is highly revered among Hindus.
The Sun Temple is located amidst lush greenery and serene surroundings and absolutely worth a visit.

Fun Castle Water Park in Ranchi:

Located in Ratu in Ranchi, Fun Castle Water Park is one of the most popular water parks in the city. Replete with a number of fun options, the park has water draughting, thrilling water, a Playground etc in addition to changing and locker rooms, food options etc.

Ram Dayal Munda Park:

Situated in the Morabadi suburb of Ranchi, Ram Dayal Munda Park is dedicated to the celebrated scholar Ram Dayal Munda. Besides being a popular leisure spot for the localites, the park also has a joggers' spot to encourage early morning and evening walks.

Hudru Falls:

The river Subarnekha while flowing through Ranchi forms a lot of waterfalls, but the most beautiful of them is Hudru Falls. Falling from a height of 320 feet, the Hudru Falls create a spectacular landscape and is extremely popular with tourists.
Bathing at the foot of the waterfall can be a very refreshing experience and is highly recommend to everyone who visits this waterfall.

Deori Mandir:

Dedicated to the ferocious 16-armed Goddess Kali, the Deori Mandir was originally built by a tribal devotee of the goddess with nothing but sandstone. Holding tremendous religious significance, thousands of devotees pray to the goddess and tie a thread around a bamboo as a ritual. The temple gained popularity when news broke out that famous cricketer MS Dhoni visits the temple on a regular basis.

Hirni Falls:

Sixty kilometres away from the disturbances of the city and hidden in the thick foliages of a dense forest lies a gem of nature, the Hirni Falls. These graceful and simply gorgeous falls are decked with unencumbered natural beauty and exhume a purely relaxing and tranquil vibe. If that's not enough, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the head of the falls.

Kanke Dam:

Set right next to the famous Rock Garden of Ranchi, the Kanke Dam is the perfect romantic getaway for couples, a family picnic or an outing with friends. Gazing at the magical sunset that renders the sky in vivid shades of fire, while gently boating along the dam's placid waters will truly rejuvenate you. Be sure to try some of the delicious local cuisine by the dam.

Deer Park:

A park safari of the Birsa Deer Park in Ranchi will introduce you to the hundreds of species of deer that are sure to blow your mind. From beautiful spotted deer to the majestic Sambhars, this park is home to more than 15 species of deer. With giant Sal trees and plush shrubbery all around, visiting this park is a great way to get in touch with nature.

Birsa Munda Stadium:

Spanning over a whopping 275 acres, the Birsa Munda Stadium has it all- a seating capacity of 35000 people, dust and fireproof roof, 12 double lifts, several elliptical pylons, air-conditioned warm up track and much more. The stadium is surrounded by a 66 foot wall on all sides that makes it look like a spaceship.

Rajrappa Waterfall:

Rajrappa Waterfalls is a mesmerising waterfalls situated around 68 kms from Ranchi in Jharkhand. The Bhairavi or Bhera river falls from a height and joins the Damodar river. The silver cascading water from a height is a popular attraction in the region and is visited by tourists and localites alike.

Ranchi War Cemetery:

History sweeps in the urban town of Ranchi near the Old Hazari Bagh Road, at Ranchi War Cemetery, devoted to the martyrs in the World War II. A final resting place for the fallen soldiers of the war, around 200 graves inhabit this cemetery. The "Cross of Sacrifice," a tall cantilevered Latin cross that is a common sight in any World War II cemetery with more than 40 graves, is located in the center of the green fields
In the memory of these soldiers, each headstone is marked with their name, age, designation and the date and time of their martyrdom.

McCluskieganj:

Nestled between lush forests and lofty hills, the scenic town of McCluskieganj exudes colonial charm. Speckled with sprawling old bungalows that were once the home of Anglo-Indian population earlier, the town is drenched with a rich history.
